Affiliate Program

Make money doing something GOOD
for the world!

Alan Tutt, through the PowerKeys Publishing website and others, has dedicated his life to empowering people all over the world to live their dreams.  Now you have an opportunity to become a part of the team which makes this happen.

As an affiliate, your job will be to distribute materials which help people, such as insightful articles, empowering ebooks and reports, and reviews of our products.  These materials provide excellent value to those who receive them, and simply bring our products to the reader's awareness.  Such a "soft sell" approach works very well for us, and allows our affiliates to feel proud to represent us, since there is no hard selling involved.

In return, we offer generous commissions whenever any of your referrals result in a sale.  Commissions are a full 50% of all product sales, including physical products.  You also earn commissions for ALL purchases made by your referrals, for as long as they remain a customer.

In addition, we offer additional perks and bonuses to our affiliates.

How to join

Our affiliate program is currently available to all members.  All you have to do is fill out the registration form.  (If you already have a user account, just log in and click the "Affiliate Center" tab on your "My Account" page.)

Our system is set up so that all members are automatically given affiliate status, and there are a variety of promotional materials available in the members area when you log in.  And if you ever need additional assistance, help is just an email away.

Additional Info

In order to give you the clearest and most accurate description of our affiliate program, we asked Rosalind Gardner if we could use her "20 Questions" as outlined in her "Super Affiliate Handbook", a reference that is guaranteed to help any affiliate make more money promoting other people's stuff online.

Rosalind Gardner's 20 Questions
(From her "Super Affiliate Handbook")

  1. Is the Company Reputable? - PowerKeys Publishing has been in business since January 2003. We currently have several affiliates who have been with us since we first started our in-house program. We can provide references upon request.
  2. Is there an Affiliate Agreement? - Yes.
  3. What are the Terms of Agreement? - Click Here for our affiliate agreement.
  4. May I Terminate the Agreement? If so, how? - You may terminate your membership account for any reason whatsoever. The easiest way to do this is to simply send us an email stating your desire and your membership account will be cancelled immediately.
  5. Am I eligible for this program? - Yes!  All members/customers are automatically given affiliate status.
  6. Is there a Fee to Join the Program? - No. Our program is completely free to our customers/members.
  7. Does the Program Require Exclusivity? - No. You may promote any other programs you wish.
  8. What is the Program Type? - We offer a Pay-Per-Sale affiliate program.  We pay you a percentage of every sale that results from your referrals.
  9. What is the Commission Rate? - We offer a flat commission rate of 50% on all products sold, including physical products.
  10. How Long are Cookies Set to Last? - Cookies set by the system last for 180 days, or 6 months.  If you refer someone to our site and they come back 6 months later to join, you'll be credited with that referral, unless another affiliate refers that person in the interim. (Most recent affiliate gets credit.)
  11. Do I Get Credit for Recurring Sales? - Yes.
  12. Does the Program Pay Lifetime Commissions? - Yes.  Once the person you've referred joins, they are permanently assigned to you, and all purchases made by that person will generate commissions for you.
  13. Is it a 2-Tier or Multiple-Tier Program? - Yes.  We pay 10% on 2nd-tier referrals. This means that all referrals made by those you've referred into the system will generate commissions for you as well as for them.
  14. Are Sales Statistics Reported in Real Time? - Yes. All reports contain data collected at the time the report is generated, even in the previous microsecond.
  15. Are Merchant Copy & Sales Tools Offered? - Yes.  We continue to add new materials from time to time.  If you would like something not already offered, just let us know.
  16. How Often Do I Get Paid? - Every month. Commissions are paid on or before the second Friday of each month and include commission earned up to the end of the previous month. We do not hold anything back to cover potential refunds (which are rare - less than 2%), but give you everything you've earned.
  17. HOW Do I Get Paid? - You have your choice between getting paid via PayPal or physical check. There is no “processing fee” either way. You get the full amount of your commissions.  You select your preferred payment option in your account, found by clicking "My Account" in the navigation menu.
  18. Does the Merchant use Third Party Billing? - No, we handle all payments in-house. Once again, you may contact some of our current affiliates if this is a concern for you to verify our payment history. References are available upon request.
  19. Is There a Minimum Payout Amount? - Yes, you must earn a minimum of $50 in commissions before a payment will be processed. This is to compensate for the fact that we do not charge a “processing fee” for paying you, nor hold back to cover refunds.
  20. Is Co-Branding Available? - Yes, although on a limited level. Contact us for full details.

    and 2 additonal questions ....

  21. What other factors should I consider? - Our sales conversions are among the highest in the industry. It is not uncommon for an affiliate to see 3% to 8% conversions when promoting our products, and even higher when we run a special event.  In some unusual situations, we've seen conversions as high as 16%. This increases the average visitor value, a very important measure of the profitability of a program. Our average visitor value fluctuates depending on the quality of traffic we get, but tends to fall between 70¢ and $5 per visitor.

During the period of Nov.15, 2010 to Nov.15, 2011, our affiliates have AVERAGED $0.50 per click. (To be more specific, $0.4996 per click.)  This is the commissions they received, not the full visitor value.  During the same time period, some affiliates received an average of $0.96 per referral, while other affiliates received much less.  it all depends on the quality of traffic they send.

  22. May I earn commissions on my own purchases? - No.  Our affiliate program is not intended to be a "personal discount" program.

Affiliate Agreement

Preamble

This agreement is between PowerKeys Publishing (Merchant) and Affiliate, and will define the nature and substance of the relationship between parties.

This agreement may be amended and changed from time to time, and it is the responsibility of PowerKeys Publishing to make sure that Affiliate is informed of any changes made. Furthermore, if any changes require a response from the Affiliate, PowerKeys Publishing is responsible for giving the Affiliate a reasonable amount of time to respond, which is hereby defined as a 30-day time period.

Affiliate is welcome to suggest amendments or changes to this agreement and Merchant agrees to give each suggestion due consideration.

Terms of Use

The PowerKeys Publishing Affiliate Program (which will be referred to as ‘The Program’) is intended to be used by the Affiliate to promote the Merchant’s products in exchange for a commission. It is not intended to be used as a personal discount program, and therefore Affiliate may not earn commissions on personal purchases.

It is expected that the Affiliate will actively promote the Merchant’s products. This means that promotional materials will be posted to Affiliate’s website within 2 weeks of joining The Program and one or more emails sent to Affiliate’s mailing list within the first month. Further, Affiliate is required to maintain promotional materials on his/her website and promotional emails sent to his/her mailing list at least twice a year. Failure to meet any of these requirements may result in the termination of Affiliate’s account.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

In order to earn commissions with The Program, Affiliate agrees to the following:

Agreement Termination Conditions

Affiliate may terminate this agreement at any time for any reason. No action is required on the part of the Affiliate to effect this termination other than to stop promoting the Merchant’s products. However, the Affiliate may contact the Merchant to express a desire to have the agreement terminated, which will be immediately acted upon.

If and when the agreement is terminated, any commissions owed to the Affiliate will be paid if they meet the minimum payout requirement. If this minimum requirement is not met, then any commissions owed to the Affiliate become forfeit.

Merchant may terminate this agreement only under the following conditions:

Marketing Materials

Merchant will provide Affiliate with sample marketing materials that Affiliate may copy and paste into their website and email broadcasts. These marketing materials may take several forms and may include banners, articles, text ads, sponsor ads, solo ads, and/or other ads.

Merchant will make a good faith effort to insure that all marketing materials provided to Affiliate are effective. Affiliate is expected to personalized any provided text copy to better match their audience and present a true and accurate representation of Affiliate’s experience with the Merchant’s products.

Merchant cannot guarantee any specific measure of response to the provided marketing materials, as the Merchant cannot control the whims of the public at large. Further, it is recognized that the relationship the Affiliate has with their audience (website visitors and mailing list subscribers) has a significant impact on promotional results.

Referral Tracking

Affiliate referrals are tracked in multiple ways. Cookies are the standard tracking mechanism and used wherever possible. Cookie lifetimes are set at 6 months and all sales made during that time frame earn a commission for the referring Affiliate. Merchant has also implemented a Compact Privacy Policy, which allows cookies to be set even when the referral’s browser is set to a ‘High’ privacy setting.

When cookies are blocked by the referral’s browser, Merchant’s software records the referral’s IP address in a database for tracking. When a sale is made and no cookie is found on the referral’s computer, the referral’s IP address is checked against the database for a possible match. If matched, the referring Affiliate is awarded credit for the sale and a commission is recorded into that Affiliate’s account.

Multiple sales resulting from a single referral are all tracked and the referring Affiliate earns commission on all of them during the tracking period.

In a case where the same website visitor is referred by multiple affiliates, credit is assigned to the last affiliate referring the customer. This is an industry standard policy, and rewards affiliates who are able to be more persuasive with their referrals. If Affiliate A makes a weak referral and the visitor is not convinced to purchase, Affiliate B may be more persuasive and get the sale.

Once a referral becomes a customer, the Affiliate's ID is hard-coded into the database, and all future orders placed by that customer will earn Affiliate a commission.

Commissions

Commissions are earned on all completed sales referred to the Merchant by the Affiliate. By definition, this is a Pay-Per-Sale affiliate arrangement. The commission percentage earned by the Affiliate is 50% of the product total for all orders placed by the Affiliate's referrals.

Commissions are not paid on shipping fees nor taxes.  If a discount is applied to the order, commissions will be calculated on the discounted amount.

Commission Payments

Commissions are paid on or before the second Friday of each month for commissions earned through the end of the previous month. This means that commissions earned at the end of one month are paid to Affiliate a few days later if Affiliate’s commissions are equal to or greater than the minimum payout amount specified in their account profile.

The minimum payout amount is $50. Only when the Affiliate has earned commissions equal to or greater than this number will commissions be paid.

Affiliate may specify within his/her account profile how commission should be paid, either by PayPal or by physical check. Affiliate is responsible for setting this in his/her account profile as well as the PayPal email address or name to make the check out to. If no choice is made, Merchant will be unable to pay commissions.

No “processing fees” are taken out of Affiliate’s payment, as Merchant considers this a cost of doing business. Merchant also does not hold back any amount of Affiliate’s commissions to cover possible refunds on sales referred by Affiliate. If Affiliate refers customers with an abnormally high refund rate, the Merchant may choose to make an exception to this general rule.
